Sneaky Claire

So, I'm not sure where Claire has learned her sneakiness, but it's darn cute. Lately, she's been sneaking around. The other day, at my parents' house, she was sneaking down the hallway, past the bedrooms. Hunched over, and tip toeing, Claire stopped before going into a vacant bedroom. She leaned back to peak into the bedroom that Chris was in to see if he was watching her. Once she confirmed that she could continue unawares, she went back into her sneaking, hunched over position, and entered the vacant bedroom.

She also tries to be tricky. While at Chris's parents house, Claire learned how to climb on the fireplace hearth. When we saw this, and decided it wasn't the best idea (hard stone, sometimes hot fire - not good), so Chris got in the way of her getting to the hearth. After going back and forth many times trying to get to the hearth but Chris always getting in her way first, she got clever. She pretended to give up and walk away. Just when she was a few steps away, and thought that her daddy would have given up on playing defense, she did a 180 and ran toward the hearth. Chris of course didn't fall for her deceptive ways, but I thought that was pretty sneaky for a 13 month old. I didn't know they could reason that well to try to fool people.

So, needless to say, we have to watch out for this little sneaky one. She is so darn cute, and there's nothing I like more than to watch her learn and grow, even if it does include being sneaky.
