This Thanksgiving, Chris really wanted to cook in our own kitchen. He LOVES cooking for Thanksgiving. We said we weren't going to go too crazy this time as it was just our little family and my parents here to eat. Well, the not going crazy part wasn't very successful, but the food was! We had bacon wrapped turkey and gravy, traditional sausage stuffing, a special oyster stuffing Chris likes, squash, roasted green beans, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, mac and cheese, sweet potato pudding with a jack daniels whiskey sauce (this is really more like a dessert, even served with cool whip :)), cranberry salad, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin roll, and a chocolate silk pie. Yum! I know at this point, Thanksgiving is kind of far away, but talking about this food still makes my mouth water. The pumpkin cheesecake recipe was a new one, and one that I plan to add to our family cookbook. Mmm.

My parents were awesome. They had just gotten back from visiting my brother and his family in Australia on Monday. They were planning on coming down on Wednesday to rest up, unpack, pack, etc, but there was a big storm coming on Wednesday, so they got home on Monday, and came down to our house on Tuesday. They are awesome. They continue to amaze me with their awesome examples of dedication, service, and love. It was so fun having them here for Thanksgiving!

| Lego box on her head, Claire's socks on her feet, and one shoe. (The other shoe we lost at Sams club. Oops!) Crazy kid. |
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my parents and love that we are close enough to spend holidays with family!
