Carnival!

We already went to the Lycoming County Fair, but when we heard the carnival was in town, we thought it'd be fun to go have more fun! The kids love riding the rides, and they were reasonably priced, so we went for more summer fun! It was a small carnival, and there were some, uh, interesting people there, but it was fun. The kids got to ride five rides, each played a game to win toys, and since we ate dinner before we went, we felt ok splurging on yummy treats. We decided to share a funnel cake with strawberry pie filling on top. Mmm. Right before we left, we thought we'd get the kids, including Amelia, some ice cream. They were very happy kids. It was fun watching just Claire ride the carnival rides, but now that Maddie is old enough, it's just adorable watching them enjoy the fun together! My heart just melts! Here are a few shots we got at our time there. (They were taken with the cell phone, so they aren't the greatest quality, especially when they were moving.)
I know Maddie is cut off, but I just LOVE the face she's making! Claire was spinning the teacup really fast and Maddie was squealing and laughing the whole time!
The dragon roller coaster.
This was after the car was whipped around the corner. They LOVED it!
This is how she enjoyed the carnival - thumb in mouth. Next year, maybe she'll join them!
Darn, Maddie wasn't tall enough to ride the ride alone, which meant I had to ride with her. It was so fun! :)
For their final ride, they decided to ride the teacups again. We had a wonderful time, but it started to get really crowded (we had gotten there right when it opened at 6PM before it was too crowded), so we were ready to head home. I love family fun!

And time for my random picture. On Sunday evening, we went on a family walk. The girls decided to dress like this. (Maddie has 3 shirts on and fleece pants, and Claire shared her sock puppet (the sock on Maddie's hand) with Maddie. Claire has her puppy, Buttercup, in her shirt.) They ran a lot of the way. It ended up being a much longer walk because we went exploring along the water and discovered there wasn't a short cut home. I love how Maddie copies whatever pose or face Claire makes.

A view of the water along our walk.
